Mexico and adidas have unveiled their third shirt for 2013. The nation which boasts players like Manchester United‘s Javier Hernandez play Jamaica in a CONCACAF group stage match for the 2014 FIFA World Cup this week. The shirt will be used for the 2013 Confederations Cup in Brazil later this year.

The shirt features a white colour with red trim on the shoulders and sleeves. The shirt has a simple design unlike their home and away shirts which were released earlier in 2013.

A relatively successful World Cup in South Africa promised much for Mexico’s young stars and British clubs were quick to recognize their potential. Mexico were eventually eliminated by Argentina in the 2nd round but not before young stars such as Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and Giovanni Dos Santos had impressed where the faded, seniors had largely disappointed.
At the start of the season 5 stars of “El Tri” were snapped up but unfortunately the Mexican foray has been mixed at best.

Long before the World Cup had started Alex Ferguson pounced …

Mexico’s World Cup may have been dissapointing but British managers did recognise some of the brighter aspects of their tournament. Three players have already crossed the atlantic from the Primera Division De Mexico and a few more may follow.
Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez had already moved from Chivas Guadalajara to Manchester United before leaving for South Africa and his displays in the tournament auger well for the Old Trafford masses. The striker scored twice against France and Argentina despite being criminally underused by his national coach and he made a scoring debut …

“In hindsight, maybe you would have done things differently”.

Many coaches from this year’s World Cup have already paid the ultimate penalty for their countries failure.
Domenech was the first, and not before time. Lippi jumped before he was pushed. Dunga was sacked. Le Guen quit after failure and Erikkson collected another loser’s bonus before dissapearing again.
Javier Aguirre added his name to this list on Wednesday. Despite making hints to the contrary the Mexico coach decided to leave his post and provide his successor with the full amount …

Javier Aguirre has announced his resignation as Mexican coach following largely, disappointing World Cup campaign. He was tasked with taking Mexico at least into the quarter finals but alike the previous four World Cup tournaments the team was unable to get past the 2nd round (last 16).
Mexico were eliminated from the tournament on Sunday when they lost 3 – 1 to Argentina.
Aguirre or “El Vasco” (The Bosque) had previously led Mexico to the World Cup in South Korea/Japan in 2002 where they were eliminated to the United States. This time …

Mexico were dumped out of the World Cup 3-1 against an under par Argentina team today in Johannesburg. The game hinged on another dreadful, linesman decision similar to the England v Germany game earlier in the day. However alike the previous game the decision maybe masked the deficiencies of largely disappointing Mexico side.
Argentina controversially took the lead when Carlos Tevez nodded home from a clearly, offside position before Gonzolo Higuin doubled the lead before half-time. Tevez smashed home his second just after the break and Mexico restored some pride when …

Mexico face a daunting task if they are to progress to the quarter finals of the World Cup. Beat an Argentina team which contains a plethora of World stars and in the process make history.

Mexico’s form has been indifferent in qualification. A 1-1 draw with South Africa was followed by a historic victory over the farcical French then a disappointing 1-0 loss to Uruguay. In the end 4 points was enough to squeak by in 2nd place courtesy of a greater goal difference than the hosts.
Meanwhile Argentina have been clinical …

A Luis Suarez header late in the first half was enough to secure first place for Uruguay in Group A. Despite enjoying a lot of possession Mexico were largely disappointing and lacked the fluidity and cutting edge of their last game against France. There were fleeting movements of skill and good build up play from Giovani Dos Santos but an ageing strike force of Cuauhtémoc Blanco and Guillermo Franco failed grasp the opportunities presented.
Uruguay were impressive in spells, attacking through Suarez and Diego Forlan, but mainly played on the counter attack …

Mexico and Uruguay will go into tomorrow’s fixture knowing that draw will ensure both qualify for the next round and condemn the French to a humiliating early, exit. In the event of a tie both teams will finish with 5 points but Uruguay will top Group A with a superior goal difference (courtesy of their 3-0 triumph over hosts, South Africa).

However, the prize is even greater for the Group A winner as the reward will probably be a match against either South Korea or Greece as runner –up in Group …

If Uruguay it the blue touch paper to ignite this World Cup and Argentina stoked the flames, Mexico threw a bucket of petrol over it today with a scintillating displayand historic two nil win against the hapless French.
Recent Manchester United signing Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez put Mexico ahead in 64 minutes after latching on to Rafael Marquez pass, and the win was sealed 15 minutes later when their veteran, hit-man Cuautemoc Blanco coolly, converted a late penalty.
It was a well deserved win for the Mexicans who constantly pressed and attacked …
